Weekly Block Diwas prog held across districts of Jammu division
Jammu: The activities regarding weekly block diwas were today held across the districts of Jammu Division where locals projected their issues.
At Rajouri
District Development Commissioner Rajouri,Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Wednesday presided Block Diwas programmes at Kalakote, while similar events were held at other identified locastions.
The day long Block Divas programmes witnessed huge turnout of people who apprised the officers and officials of different departments about a number of grievances pertaining to their areas and sought redressal for the same. Maximum grievances were redressed on spot with the intervention of the concerned departments.
The resource persons of the different departments also explained to people about the socio-economic development schemes. A number of domicile certificates and other Government services were provided to the general public.
At Reasi
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib, conducted an extensive tour of Arnas and listened to public grievances of people hailing from Blocks Arnas, Thuroo, Jij Bagali and Thakarakote.
The DDC was accompanied by BDC Chairperson Neena Devi, SDM Dharmari Haseeb , Tehsildar Thuroo Dr.Riaz Ahmed,CDPO ICDS Anjum Ganai, CEO, BDOs, XENs of various engineering wings, district officers, other block level officers and field functionaries.
The Block Divas was attended by large number of people including PRIs and locals of Panchayats.
The PRIs apprised the DDC that they are facing hardships due to lack of adequate staff in health centres and schools besides poor power and water supply, poor net work, road connectivity and issuing of Health cards, up gradation of PHE and PDD infrastructure and renovation of school buildings.
The DDC resolved several issues on the spot besides issuing instructions to the concerned departments for looking into all the pending issues raised by the public for an early redressal.
Similar programmes were also held at Mahore, Katra and Reasi.
At Ramban
District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan listenined to the public grievances at Block Diwas meeting at Banihal.
Similar events were held at five different locations of district Ramban.
BDC Chairperson, Banihal, Rashida Begum, BDC Chairperson Khari, Sajad Hussain, SDM, Zaheer Abbas, CMO, CEO and various sectoral and district officers besides PRIs attended the meeting.
The DDC directed the Assistant Labour Commissioner Ramban to hold monthly camp at Banihal to enable the labourers to reap the benefit from various welfare schemes launched by the government for them.
The DDC listened to issues, grievances and demands highlighted by the PRIs, deputations and individuals from Panchyats of different blocks. He encouraged the participants to highlight their individual issues also to avoid their visits to government offices. He directed the district and sectoral officers to ensure service counter of their respective departments at Block Diwas meetings so that the public can reap the benefit of different government schemes without visiting offices repeatedly.
At Kathua
Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Om Prakash Bhagat held a public outreach programme at Block Headquarter Billawar to get first-hand account of the public grievances and also reviewed the ongoing works of Rural Development Department.
Public delegations hailing from Billawar, Mandli, Gujjroo Nagrota, Baggan, Duggain and Lohai Malhar blocks besides scores of individuals met Deputy Commissioner and projected problems and demands related to road connectivity, potable drinking water, uninterrupted power supply and other matters of vital public significance.
The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing and assured that all their issues and demands will be taken up with the concerned authorities for time bound redressal. He also issued on spot directions to the concerned departments seeking their timely intervention to redress the grievances in a time bound manner.
Meanwhile, Public Grievances Redress programmes were also held at Basohli, Bani and Hiranagar where people apprised their grievances to the sub-district and sub-division administration.
At Poonch:
District Development Commissioner, Rahul Yadav, listened to public issues during a Block Diwas program held at Block Surankote.
A series of activities were also organised at different places of the district viz Mendhar, Mandi and Poonch which witnessed overwhelming public response. The people in large numbers interacted with the officers and officials of different departments and apprised them of the issues and demands of their respective areas.
During the programme, PRI members and locals raised demands of their areas including augmentation of water and power supply, Medicare facility and various specific issues i.e; water scarcity at Bufliaz Taranwali, and Potha, repairing of damaged Motor of the lift Scheme at Potha, inclusion of left out under AAY, repairing of irrigation kul at Draba, repairing of PWD road at Rather Mohalla, and Surankote to potha and potha byepass to Danna Shaista link road.
The DDC also reviewed the progress of different sectors including Aadhar Seeding in CAPD deptt., Social welfare department, tagging of livestock of Animal Husbandry Department and progress of work of different works of B2V phase 1st and 2nd.
At Doda:
The weekly Block Diwas programme for redress of public grievances was held in Doda, Bhalla, Gandoh, Thathri and Assar which witnessed active participation of locals across the seventeen blocks of the District.
The program was held under the supervision of District Development Commissioner Dr Sagar D Doifode.
The teams of Different departments along with the frontline field functionaries delivered varied service to the people and listened to their grievances.
As many as 244 grievances/applications were received during the program out of which 237 were redressed by the respective departments on the spot, besides several services which includes 42 category certificates, 302 Domicile certificates and 18 different revenue papers were also provided to the people on the spot.
