Winners of various events felicitated
ALIGARH : The Abdullah School, Aligarh Muslim University felicitated the winners of various literary, cultural and sports events at the annual prize distribution ceremony organized by it with the Deputy Director of School Education, Prof. Shaista Afroz, as the chief guest. Mr. Nasir Qamar was a special guest on this occasion.
Acknowledging the remarkable success of students in education, Tauheed Qamar Award for the session 2022-23 was given to three students of Class V by Mr Nasir Qamar, who constituted the award in memory of his parents, Mrs. Tauheed Un Nisa and Mr. Qamar Hussain. Under the award, Sabia, Zara Siddiqui and Zaina Rashid received a cash prize of Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2000, respectively.
Three medals in gold, silver and bronze, were given to the top three scorers of the National Spell Bee competition held to enhance the basic English language and speaking skills of young minds. Ms. Sarah Siddiqui conducted the competition.
An inter-school “Mind Wars Spell Bee India 2022-23” competition was organized with 21 participants, under which four students of Class IV and V received the winning certificates for holding first positions. Ms. Ayesha Khan was the coordinator of this programme.
A Search Foundation project for empowering and uplifting the underprivileged children was held in the school for which certificates and prizes were given to the participating students. Ms. Tasneem Fatima, coordinator of the programme also received appreciation award for her efforts.
The participants of Qirat and Naat Khawani competitions held at the Stratchey Hall of the university as part of the Seerat-Un-Nabi Celebrations, 2023, were given certificates of appreciation. Mr. Merajuddin coordinated this program.
The Yellow House emerged as the overall winner in the Inter-house Sports Week, while the Red House was declared as the first runner-up and the Blue and Green Houses shared the position of second runners-up.
An exhibition of art and craft made by the school students and with a Science Corner and presentation of 75 day event of Bharatiya Bhasha Utsav 2023 was also organized on this occasion.
In her address, the chief guest, Prof. Shaista Afroz urged the students to take part in the extra-curricular activities with an increased emphasis on the personality development and the health benefits.
Ms Umra Zaheer, Superintendent of the school thanked the participants and winners for their achievement and appreciated the efforts of the teachers for providing an overall constructive and development atmosphere to our school children.
Ms. Anjum Anwar conducted the prize distribution ceremony and proposed a vote of thanks.
