Winnie Sun Scholarship 2022 will facilitate higher education for Girl students

New Delhi : Lotus Petal  Foundation, a Gurugram based NGO is inviting applications from across India for the 2ndWinnie Sun Scholarship Programme. The scholarship provides an opportunity to meritorious girl students from financially challenged backgrounds and above 18 years of age who aspire for higher education in Medicine, Engineering, Nursing & Pharmacy. In Haryana, the scholarship is supported by the State Education Department and District Education Officer, Gurgaon for Class XII Super 100 Students.

Under the scholarship scheme, Lotus Petal Foundation will provide financial assistance to girl students from families where the combined family income is less than 5 Lakh per annum. A scholarship amount of up to Rs. 65000/- per annum for the duration of the academic course (Fees + living costs + travel etc.) will be provided to students who have secured or plan to take admission in any Government college for Medical (MBBS/BDS), Engineering, Nursing and Pharmacy, which is recognized by central or state academic department.

Students must have completed their grade X with minimum 70 percentile and appeared in grade XII from recognized state or central board to qualify for this scholarship, while students from reserved category (SC/ST/OBC) have a mark-off of 60 percent in Grade X and XII.

Last year, out of 138 applications received from across India, 25 scholars were identified from 8 states for the three professional courses in Engineering, Medical and allied studies. Students have secured admissions in prestigious institutions like Indian Institution of Technology (IIT, Bombay), National Institute of Technology (NIT),  Birla Institute of Technology, Indian Maritime University, among others, and benefitted from this scholarship.
