Women’s Day Special | DXC Technology Awards Progressing Minds Scholarship 2023-24 to 310 girls in STEM and Sports

New Delhi – DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC) is proud to announce that 310 exceptional female scholars have been awarded the DXC Progressing Minds Scholarship Program for the academic year 2023–24. Among these recipients, 260 have been granted scholarships for STEM education, while 50 have been acknowledged in the sports category. Each recipient in the STEM category is entitled to receive a one-time financial award of ₹50,000, whereas female athletes will be granted a one-time aid of ₹1,25,000.

The DXC Progressing Minds Scholarship Program is committed to fostering inclusivity and empowering young women and transgender students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. Additionally, the program acknowledges and celebrates exceptional female athletes who have achieved success at state, national, or international levels.

Initiated in collaboration with the Buddy4Study India Foundation, the program received an overwhelming response for the academic year 2023–24, with more than 10,000 applications from aspiring scholars nationwide. As part of a multi-layered selection process, as many as 2,260 female candidates were shortlisted in the STEM category, and a total of 425 candidates were chosen in the sports category based on their achievements and eligibility criteria. Subsequently, after meticulous document verification and interviews, a total of 310 female scholars were awarded the scholarship.

and propelled us to continue our efforts in fostering inclusivity and supporting the education of deserving girls from marginalized communities in STEM fields and sports.”

Insights About the Awardees

Among the DXC Progressing Minds Scholarship recipients in 2023–24, close to 98% in STEM and about 70% in sports, come from families with annual family income of below ₹1,00,000, with 49 girls from single-parent households. Among the 50 athletes, 35 have achieved top rankings and participated in a wide range of sports at national, international, and state levels, including Cricket, Boxing, Wrestling, Judo, Kabbadi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Tennis, and more. These awardees represent diverse regions of India, with Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh being the top three states.

On the other hand, the selected STEM scholars hail from renowned institutions across India, including IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT BHU, NIT Kurukshetra, NIT Silchar, Madras Institute of Technology, University of Delhi, and others.
