Workshop held on dental trauma

ALIGARH  : The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College, Aligarh Muslim University organized a Workshop on “Basic Trauma Management” to mark the International Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons’ Day, which was especially designed for the members of the Indian Dental Association under the project Sanjeevani.

The chief guest Mrs. Menu Rana, ADM Finance, Aligarh, said that the Sanjeevani project was launched by the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India (AOMSI) to provide skill development training of trauma management to private dental surgeons.

This groundbreaking collaboration with the IDA aims to equip all dental professionals with essential skills in managing medical emergencies in dental practice and basic life support, she added.

Earlier, welcoming the guests, Prof G. S. Hashmi, the Organizing Chairman and the Chairman of the department, elaborated on the objective of the workshop, adding that the project Sanjeevani is not just about training, it is about fostering a deeper connection between AOMSI members and the dental professionals at the local IDA branches by imparting knowledge on identifying and managing medical emergencies to provide safer and more effective patient care.

Prof Veena Maheshwari, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Prof. R. K .Tewari, Principal, ZA Dental College, Dr. Rajat Pratap Singh, President and Dr. Umeet Singh, Secretary, Indian Dental Association appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and said that through this workshop the local dental practitioners will get acquainted with the new developments in managing the dental trauma.

Dr. Aafia Ambereen and Dr. Jingshai conducted the programme while Dr. Sajjad A. Rahman, Organizing Secretary, extended a vote of thanks.

Prof. Moinuddin, Department of Biochemistry, JNMC distributed the certificate of participation to the participants. About 45 dental practitioners of Aligarh, including Dr. Abdul Bari, Dr. Amit Garg, Dr. Lokesh Tomar, Dr. Ravi Gupta, Dr. Astha, Dr. Pravelendra and Dr. Swati attended the workshop.
