Workshop held under SPARC
ALIGARH : The Department of Foreign Languages, Aligarh Muslim University is organizing a two-day workshop on April 24-25, 2024 under the project sanctioned to Dr. Mayuresh Kumar as part of the Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC).
Addressing the inaugural session, Prof. Md. Azher, Dean, Faculty of International Studies, highlighted the objectives of the programme, while Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, former Dean, Faculty of International Studies, emphasized the importance of Artificial Intelligence and urged other departments to collaborate with experts who have been working in this field for meaningful results.
The guest of honour, Prof. M.J. Warsi, Chairperson, the Department of Linguistics and President, Linguistic Society of India, discussed the integration of Artificial intelligence with Spanish language teaching.
Another guest of honour, Prof. Omar Farooq, who is also the Coordinator of all the SPARC projects and the Director of Research and Development Cell at AMU, underscored the importance of technology and its applications in didactics. He urged other departments to apply for projects under SPARC, which has received substantial funding.
The resource persons, Prof. Pablo Gervas and Prof. Carlos Leon, Department of Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, Complutense University of Madrid, expressed their gratitude and appreciation for AMU for organizing such workshops.
Earlier, welcoming the guests, Dr. Mayuresh Kumar introduced the SPARC project, highlighting how the University will benefit from the expertise of international collaborators.
Dr. Murad Khan discussed the role and achievements of the Department of Foreign Languages.
Prof. Rakshanda Fazli extended a vote of thanks.
