Workshop on ‘Advance Presentation Skills’

 

Aligarh : Master of Tourism and Travel Management student, Taqi Abbas was declared as the best performer in the three-day workshop on ‘Advance Presentation Skills’ held at the Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

M. Com students, Vishjeet Singh and Puneet Kumar stood second and third respectively.

The winners received certificates from Prof Nawab Ali Khan (Chairman, Department of Commerce and Workshop Convenor) and Prof Mohd Mohsin Khan (Former Dean, Faculty of Commerce) in the valedictory session.

“In the workshop faculty members and subject experts trained students to take their presentations from impressive to excellent levels in this workshop. I am sure this experience will help students to make a leap in the area of communication and equip them with competence for leading team meetings and making presentations on stage,” said Prof Nasir Zameer Qureshi (Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Workshop Director).

Prof Nawab Ali Khan (Chairman, Department of Commerce and Workshop Convenor) and Prof Mohd Mohsin Khan (Former Dean, Faculty of Commerce) pointed out: “There is a need to create leaders out of students who can inspire teams, which is why advanced presentation skills are so valuable. Besides exploring new horizons in their fields, students need to be perfect in various aspects of public speaking, content creation, audience management, eye-contact techniques and online presentations”.

Dr Zareen Husain Farooq (Department of Business Administration), Dr Mohd Nayyer Rahman (Department of Commerce) and Dr Ahmed Musa Khan (Department of Commerce) were the judges.

Dr Mohd Saeem Khan (Department of Commerce) helped organise the event and coordinated the programme. He was also one of the resource persons.
