Workshop on ‘Application of ANSYS to Engineering Problems’ concludes

Aligarh : Online workshop on ‘Application of ANSYS to Engineering Problems’ of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology (ZHCET), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) concluded with resource persons from the Macquarie University of Australia, various Indian Institutes of Technologies and AMU discussing how ANSYS Multiphysics allows engineers and scientists to simulate the interaction between structural mechanics, heat transfer, fluid flow, acoustics and electromagnetics in a unified simulation environment.

The week-long workshop began with a lecture on ‘Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)’ by Prof Syed Fahad Anwer (Department of Mechanical Engineering, AMU). Dr Shahid Husain delivered hands-on sessions on ‘Computational Geometry and Mesh Generation’ and ‘Solution Methodology and Post Processing’.

Dr Javad Mohammadpour (School of Engineering, Macquarie University, Australia) explained ‘CFD Simulation on the Shell and Tube Cooling Heat Exchangers using Ansys/Fluent’, Md Kalamuddin Ansari (IIT Bombay) delineated ‘Problem on Flameless Combustion for Gas Turbine Engine’, Talha Mujeeb (ZHCET, AMU) discussed ‘Problem on Computational Modelling for Multiphase Flow’, Dr Mohd Imran Ansari (Department of Mechanical Engineering, VCTM, UPTU) provided solutions to the ‘Problem on Flow around an Airfoil’, Mohd Tousif (IIT Madras) gave an outline on ‘Problem on Pyrolysis of Coal Combustion’ and Dr Shahid Husain and Dr Mohd Imran Ansari answered queries of the participants.

In the valedictory session, Dr Muhammed Muaz read the summary of the workshop, while Dr Mohammad Asif extended the vote of thanks.

“Faculties and students from ZHCET, Allenhouse Institute of Technology, Galgotias University, IIT Madras, Kiet Group of Institutions, IGDTUW (DELHI), Shri Ram Group of Colleges, Politecnico Di Milano-Italy, Rakshpal Bahadur College of Engineering and Technology, Mangalayatan University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Gautam Buddha University, Mewat Engineering College, United College of Engineering and Research, DTU Delhi and Jaypee University Of Engineering And Technology had registered for the programme”, said the Organizing Secretaries Dr Mohammad Asif, Dr Shahid Husain, and Dr Mohammad Muaz.
