Workshop on Arrhythmia held at the Cath Lab

ALIGARH : The Department of Cardiology, JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University organized a workshop on Arrhythmia (Electrophysiology and Radiofrequency ablation) in the Cath Lab. Dr. Avinash Verma, Senior Cardiologist and Electro Physiologist, Fortis, Gurgaon was the resource person.

In his address, Dr Avinash said that such radiofrequency ablations of abnormally high heart rates can be done at a normal cost and with great convenience to patients of Aligarh district. He said the workshop will help in creating awareness about the disastrous consequences of untreated high heart rates which can precipitate heart failure.

Prof. Asif Hasan, Chairman, Department of Cardiology said that seven patients with abnormally high heart rates (Tachyarrhythmia) were subjected to the procedure and successfully treated.

Prof. Malik Azharudclin also took part in the workshop.
