Workshop on Fashion Design and Garment Technology concludes

ALIGARH  : The Centre of Continuing and Adult Education and Extension, Aligarh Muslim University organized a one-day workshop on “Fashion Design and Garment Technology” in collaboration with the Community College, AMU.

Addressing the concluding session of the workshop, the chief guest, Prof Mohd Tarique, Department of Economics, highlighted the importance of the workshop in generating a sense of self reliance and self employment in women learners of the Centre, which not only generates in them a desire for income generation but also money saving. He urged the participants to carry forward the lessons they have learned during the workshop and help empower the common women in society with the enlightening messages.

Prof Tarique gave away the prizes and certificates to the winners of the test of quality learning, Shabnam Sheikh, Tayyaba Jamil and Anjum Parveen who got the first, second and third prizes, respectively.

The Director of the Centre, Dr. Shamim Akhtar appreciated the efforts of the students of the Community College – Ms Simran Khan, Ms Farha, Ms Shaheen Siraj and Ms Kulsum Nisha providing training to the learners.

Ms Simran Khan extended a vote of thanks.
