Workshop on Medical Education Technology
ALIGARH : Faculty members and guest speakers from across the country discussed the new ideas and trends taking place in the realm of the teaching-learning process for faculty members in the area of medical sciences, during a three-day Revised Basic Course Workshop (rBCW) in Medical Education Technology, recently organized by the Faculty of Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University at the J N Medical College. About thirty faculty members including senior professors participated in the workshop that concluded on January 12.
In his inaugural address, Prof. M. U. Rabbani (the then Dean, Faculty of Medicine) emphasized the importance of training faculty members in curriculum planning, using new and innovative teaching-learning methods, and developing a robust assessment system for the new competency-based medical education.
Prof Rakesh Bhargava (Principal and Chief Medical Superintendent, JNMC) emphasized the importance of training empathetic doctors.
Prof. Seema Hakim (Coordinator), Prof Syed Manazir Ali (Co-coordinator), and members of the MEU were the resource persons.
In his concluding remarks, Prof. Sanjay Das (Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Jollygrant, Dehradun), who represented the National Medical Commission, appreciated the efforts in holding the workshop in a productive manner, saying that it was well planned, orderly structured, interactive and finely managed.
