Workshop on New Initiatives for Sustainable Development

 

Aligarh : A seven-day workshop on “Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Nanotechnology and Bioinformatics”, in collaboration with Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University’s Department of Microbiology and the Aligarh Muslim University, is being organized as part of Synergistic Training program Utilizing the Scientific and Technological Infrastructure (STUTI) project sanctioned to AMU.

Prof BP Singh, Chairperson, Department of Physics, AMU talked about bringing scientific awareness and developing the manpower for scientific growth of the country. Speaking on “Worldwide Energy Scenario and new initiatives for Sustainable Development”, he said that the nuclear energy is the most concentrated form of energy because the large amount of energy produced leaves only a small amount of manageable waste, uranium has been called nature’s gift for clean environment and economic development.

Presiding over the workshop, Prof Ajay Pratap Singh (Chief Proctor, RMLU), said that science and technology has expanded a lot.

As special guest Prof Bechan Sharma (Head Department of Biochemistry, Allahabad University), provided extensive information on scientific facts of Informatics, Molecular Biology, Nanotechnology, Bio-informatics in science.

Prof CK Mishra (Dean of Science: RML University) discussed the promotion of scientific work and Prof. RK Tiwari (Department of Physics and Electronics, RMLU) highlighted the importance of nanotechnology.

Prof Rajeev Gaur (Dept. Microbiology RMLU) encouraged the students for research in Biochemistry Integrated Science.

Prof Shailendra Kumar (coordinator of the workshop and Head of Department of Microbiology RML), in his welcome address presented an outline of the workshop while welcoming the guests.

The proceeding was conducted by Prof Shailendra Kumar and Dr Anil Yadav paid vote of thanks.
