Workshop on “Platinum ten minutes” awareness and training held

Jammu: One day workshop on “Platinum ten minutes” awareness and training of belt forces in bomb blasts, bullet and splinter injuries was organized today at UTDRF headquarters 2nd Battallian, Jammu.
Commandant UTDRF 2nd Battallian Jammu, Nisha Nathyal inaugurated the workshop.
As many as, 75 Police Officers (GO’s/NGO’s) of various units of Jammu/Kashmir Zone and Homeguards/Civil Defence attended the workshop.
During the event, exercise cum demonstration of rescue operation in case of blast, bullet and splinter injuries were conducted.
Commandant emphasised the necessity to organize such type of workshops on regular basis.
Dr. Runbhushan Singh MD (Rtd), Dr. Deepak Kumar Medical Superintendent Super Speciality Hospital Jammu, Dr. Sham Gupta Assistant Professor Surgery GMC Jammu, Dr. Pardeep Bhagat (Ortho) GMC Jammu and S.C Verma (Rtd.) Assistant Director Fire & Emergency Services delivered lectures on different topics.
Interaction, discussion and deliberations were held between the participants and faculties.
Muneer Ahmed Khan, Additional Director General of Police HG/CD & UTDRF J&K presided over the valedictory function.
Khan highlighted the importance of organizing such type of workshops “Platinum ten minutes” to save precious lives post bomb blasts, splinter and bullet injuries. He asked the participants to share the learning and training with their subordinates.
He appreciated the role of UTDRF 2nd Bn Jammu for organizing such programmes. He urged upon all stake holders to prepare themselves in an efficient manner and strengthen capacity building for tackling adverse and hostile situations.
