Workshop on Resin Art concludes

 

ALIGARH  : The amateur learners at the Centre for Skill Development and Career Planning, Women’s College, Aligarh Muslim University participated in a two-day workshop on the emerging trends in Resin Art, “Mould Your Masterpiece”, and learnt the nuances of this modern art form which has gained worldwide currency and popularity over the last decade. The workshop marked India’s G20 Presidency celebrations.

On the occasion, Prof. Naima Khatoon, Director of the centre said that the Resin Art provides the artists with a nuanced skill to create or cast unique illustrations, trendy jewellery, home decor products, etc., using moulds and surfaces.

Resin art expert Ms. Arshi Khanam and Handicraft Trainer Dr Atiya Parveen were the resource persons, who provided detailed information regarding basic knowledge of resin usage, resin pouring technique, essential materials, moulds and tools to the participants. They also underlined precautions and ideas to prepare unique designs using Resin.

More than 30 participants participated in the workshop along with the Centre’s trainers, Ms. Shazia Faheem, Ms. Adiba Saleem and Ms. Sanower.

Unique art pieces like Resin trays and coasters, key chains, bookmarks, candle holders, Resin jewellery, etc., were prepared by the participants. Key chains and bookmarks with the G20 logo were also moulded by the participants.
