World Entrepreneurship Day Observed by Dawakhana Tibbiya College

 

Aligarh : Celebrating the World Entrepreneurship Day, Dawakhana Tibbiya College (DTC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organized “entrepreneurship sensitizing workshop”, with an aim to help young minds identify and develop their traits to become an entrepreneur.

Addressing the inaugural session, the Chief Guest, Prof. Mohammad Gulrez, Vice-Chancellor, AMU congratulated the Member Incharge, Dawakhana Tibbiya College Prof. Salma Ahmed, the Officiating General Manager Mr Mohd Shariq Azam, and the entire team of DTC for organizing much needed workshop on entrepreneurship sensitization. He spoke in depth about the contours of entrepreneurship.

Prof. Gulrez acknowledged the endeavors of small entrepreneurs in turning their dream into reality. He reminded the participants that Sony took 11 years to become international, and entrepreneurs can become global in a much shorter time these days.

The Guest of Honour, Mr. Mohammad Imran, Registrar, AMU and Occupier, Dawakhana Tibbiya College delineated different ways of getting into entrepreneurship.

“Entrepreneurship traits and skills can be developed and accordingly, participants can benefit from the opportunities that are available in abundance”, he said.

Earlier, welcoming the guests, Prof. Salma Ahmed narrated the journey of JRD Tata, Steve Jobs, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw and Elon Musk towards becoming renowned entrepreneurs, highlighting that their journey was dotted with hurdles and obstacles.

She also emphasized upon the idea of “Stay hungry Stay foolish” which is the driving force behind entrepreneurs.

Describing the relevance of the workshop, the Special Guest and key resource person Prof. Azhar Kazmi, Visiting Professor, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and ex Professor, Department of Business Administration, AMU said that there is a need for sensitizing people about various aspects of entrepreneurship.

In the end, a vote of thanks was proposed by Sania Khan, research scholar, Department of Business Administration.

The Inaugural Ceremony was conducted by Dr. Zareen Husain Farooq, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration.

After the inaugural session, the first session of the workshop was engaged by Dr Asif Ali Syed, Associate Professor, Department of Business Administration who discussed entrepreneurial mindset and what needs to be done to emerge as a successful entrepreneur.

Two sessions were conducted by Prof. Azhar Kazmi, who enlisted how to identify areas of business, the requirements to start a small business, clearances and sanctions, and other related issues.

This was followed by a question answer session wherein a wide range of queries were raised and answered.

On the occasion of World Entrepreneurship Day, a creative writing competition was also organized by Dawakhana Tibbiya College in which more than 90 students participated.
