World Hepatitis Day Observed

Aligarh: The Department of Moalejat, Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised a free medical camp and poster-making competition, to mark the World Hepatitis Day 2024.

In the medical camp organised at the OPD block, in the premises of A.K. Tibbiya College Hospital, in collaboration with Dawakhana Tibbiya College (DTC) and AIMIL pharmaceuticals 85 patients went through screening for Hepatitis and medicines were distributed to them. Patients were screened for blood sugar, Hb% and liver function test along with viral hepatitis screening and were encouraged to visit the Moalejat OPD for further checkup and management.

Prof. Tafseer Ali, Acting Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine and Prof. Badrudduja Khan, Principal, A.K. Tibbiya College and Chairperson of the Department inaugurated the camp, in the presence of Prof. F.S. Sherani, Chairperson, Department of Kulliyat, Prof. Tanzeel Ahmad, Department of Moalejat, Dr. Mohammad Mohsin, DMS, A.K. Tibbiya College, Dr. Jamal Azmat, Department of Moalejat, and Mr. Shariq Azam, General Manager, DTC.

Consultants of the Department of Moalejat- Prof. Tanzeel Ahmad, Dr. Jamal Azmat, Dr. S Javed Ali, Dr. Sadaf and PG students Dr. Musab, Dr. Tooba and Dr. Mushfiq gave free consultation and screened the patients. Non-teaching staff members Mr. Ahmer Meraj, Mr. Arif Khan, Mr. Junaid Ali and Mr. Sharjeel provided necessary help in the camp.

The Department of Moalejat also organised a poster making competition on the world hepatitis day theme: “It’s time for action”. The competition was open to all BUMS students of the Faculty of Unani Medicine.

Prof. Badrudduja Khan said that all the participants will be given certificates and three best posters will be awarded.

Prof. Rubi Anjum, Chairperson, Department of Tahaffuzi wa Samaji Tib and Dr. Jamal Azmat from the Department of Moalejat served as the judges for the event. Dr. S Javed Ali organised the event and Dr. Sadaf served as the observer.
