World Kidney Day observed in AMU

Aligarh: The Nephrology Division, Department of Paediatrics, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised outreach activities such as quiz competition, poster competition, school health education programmes and educational talks to observe the World Kidney Day.

Eqra, Bushra, Bareera, Harsh and Harshika bagged the first prize in poster-making competition, while Manasvi and Faheem shared the second prize and Gesu, Hana and Bushra jointly stood at the third position.

The first and second prizes in the quiz competition were won by Vishvendra and Zad respectively. Bushra and Rida shared the third prize.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Kamran Afzal (Chairman, Department of Paediatrics) said, “Chronic kidney diseases are one of the fastest growing causes of death and it is imperative to aware people about the necessary precautions.”

Dr Sonali Agarwal spoke on different kidney diseases and how to prevent them for raising awareness in masses.

An educational video on preventive measures to avoid kidney diseases was also screened.
