World Mental Health Day 2021 celebrated at Govt PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar

 

JAMMU : Department of Psychology, Govt. P.G. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, in collaboration with Manodarpan Psychological Counseling Cell, Higher Education Department organized a series of activities for the students of Cluster University Jammu to mark the World Mental Health Day 2021. The theme of the event was “Mental Health in an Unequal World”.

A large number of students from the constituent colleges of the Cluster University participated in these activities.

The first activity, Essay Writing was co-ordinated by Dr. Syed Shehna, Asstt. Professor, Dept. of Psychology and convened by Dr. Seema Arora, Associate Professor, Dept of English. The theme of the Essay Writing Competition was “Substance Abuse” and many students from the college participated in the event. The first position was bagged by Taniya Chauhan, second position by Muskan Sharma and the third position was won by Riya Khajuria.

The second activity was Inter College Painting Competition, which was co-ordinated by Prof. Eisha Gohil, HoD Dept. of Psychology and convened by Prof. Mala Bhasin, HoD Department of Botany. The theme of this activity was “Stress Amidst the Pandemic”. The first position was won by Muskaan Sharma, second position by Kiran Kumari and the third position by Jasmeen Kour, students from Govt. P.G. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar Jammu.

The third activity, Inter College Slogan Writing Competition was co-ordinated by Prof. Ambica Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology and the theme of the activity was “Mental Health is preserved Wealth”. The first position was bagged by Priya Devi, B.ed student from GCOE, the second and third position was won by Kamani Sharma and Anjali Kumari respectively, students from GCW Gandhi Nagar.

The Patron of the event Dr. Sangeeta Nagari, Principal Govt. P.G. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar congratulated the winners and all the participants.

The Organizing Committee for the event comprised of Dr. Revika Arora, Asstt. Professor, Dept. of Chemistry and Dr. Nidhi Suri, Asstt. Professor, Dept. of Mathematics.
