World Physiotherapy Day observed at AMU

 

ALIGARH  : The AMU Paramedical College, Aligarh Muslim University organized several events to mark the World Physiotherapy Day under the programmes held to celebrate India’s G20 presidency. The events included skit, poster competition, quiz and musical chair, and a large number of students participated in these events, organized to create awareness among people regarding Arthritis, the theme of this year’s world physiotherapy day.

Shifa Khan and Nada Anjum won the first and second prize, respectively in the poster making competition, while a team of six BPT students of 2021 batch, comprising Areeba, Anza, Kamran, Kausar, Ibtihaj and Zainab, emerged as the winner in the Quiz competition.

Dr. Mohd Amir, Dr. Mohsin Aijaz and Dr. Wasil Hasan judged the poster competition while the quiz competition was judged by Dr. Nida Nawaz, Dr. Nusra Rehman, Ms. Insha Firoz and Ms. Saima Ahsan.

A group of students presented a skit to create awareness regarding arthritis and its management by physiotherapy and physical exercise.

The students also participated in a fun-based event, Musical Chair, which showed the importance of strength, mobility, independence and improved quality of life.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Ibne Ahmad, Principal, Para Medical College urged the Physiotherapy students to work hard to gain subject knowledge as much as they can, as it is essential for quality care of the patients.

The programme coordinator, Ms. Aatika Khan, highlighted the future prospects for physiotherapists and discussed the significance of early diagnosis and treatment of different types of musculoskeletal arthritis.

She also conducted the programme and proposed a vote of thanks.
