World Population Day observed at GDC Doda

Doda: The World Population Day was observed by Govt. Degree College, Doda based on the theme “Rights and Choices are the Answer: Whether baby boom or bust, the solution to shifting fertility rates lies in prioritizing all people’s reproductive health and rights.” Every year on July 11, the World observes World Population Day with the goal of highlighting the difficulties created by overpopulation and raising awareness about how overpopulation may harm the ecosystem and progress of humanity. The day also discusses family planning, poverty, sexual equality, maternal health, civil rights, and the health concerns that childbearing women confront.
The event witnessed an extension lecture by Dr. Harmeet Singh Sudan, Assistant Professor (Political Science) in GCW, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The event was virtually hosted on Google Meet platform by the NCC Naval Wing and NSS Unit, GDC, Doda under the guidance and patronage of Dr. Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi, Principal of the college. The event was moderated by Mr. Zain Batt, CTO, NCC (Naval Wing) and Dr. Sumit Kotwal, NSS Programme Officer, GDC, Doda. The NCC Naval Cadets presented their posters, poems and video presentations on the occasion. Cadets who participated in the programme were Ashish Kotwal, Joginder Singh, Vickey Kumar, Aquib Wani, Dharamjeet Singh, Sonika Bharti, Priyanka, Rinku Devi, Neena Devi, Sakshi and Nisha. Adil Qayum, NSS Head Boy, also gave his presentation on the occasion.
