World Psoriasis Day Observed at Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College and Hospital

 

Aligarh: The World Psoriasis Day was observed at the Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College and Hospital, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) to sensitise the patients and make them aware about psoriasis and its treatment.

The world psoriasis Day is observed every year on 29th October all over the world, and this year’s theme was “access to all”, meaning that every patient has a right to get treatment without any bias.

On this occasion, various curricular events were also organised to create awareness among the students, patients and health care workers.

A quiz competition amongst undergraduate students and interns was organised, in which Mr Mazhar Nasir got the first prize, while Mr Mohd shuaib and Mr Mohd Akhlad got second prize. Miss Khan Ayesha Hamid and Miss Nazish Niazi got third prize in the undergraduate category. At Postgraduate level Dr Malik Nuzhat and Dr Hafsa Tariq were declared winners of the ‘Young Derma Aspirant Award’.

In the poster making competition, five posters by Mr Abdul Rehman, Ms Tarannum, Ms Nazish Niazi, Ms Asia Masoom and Ms Tooba Iram got awards.

Dr Mohammad Mohsin, Consultant Dermatologist, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College supervised the events. He gave a brief talk about the myth and facts of the disease and also explained the do’s and don’ts, sensitizing the patients about the quality of life and living pattern.

Prof Ubaidullah Khan, Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine, Prof B D Khan, Principal, AKTCH, Prof Tabassum Latafat and Prof F.S Sherani presented the awards and prizes to the winners of various events and categories. All the events were convened and judged by Dr Ataullah Fahad, Dr Arshi Riaz, Dr M Anas, Dr M Shoeb and Dr Abiha Khan.
