World TB Day observance continues

Aligarh: In order to spread awareness regarding preventive measures and treatment schedule for Tuberculosis among patients, marking the World Tuberculosis Day, the Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC), Department of Community Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University held several programmes including a talk and discussion with patients.

Dr Suboohi Afzal (CMO Incharge, UHTC) stressed the need for strict adherence to the treatment schedule to fight against the disease successfully, while Dr Zafar Equebal delivered a talk on the signs and symptoms of tuberculosis focussing on extra pulmonary tuberculosis through the medium of posters and charts.

Dr Shahnawaz Ahmad emphasised the need for a balanced diet whereas Dr Ambika Saraswat responded to the queries of patients during a short interaction highlighting the side effects of ATT. Dr Tazeen Shamshad urged the group to spread awareness about the disease and highlighted ways to stop transmission by performing respiratory etiquettes.

Professor Anees Ahmad (Chairperson, Department of Community Medicine) supervised the programme.
