World University of Design felicitates young creative talent

Delhi: School of Visual Arts, at the World University of Design (WUD) -India’s first and only university dedicated to education in the creative domain, organized a 3-day long exhibition of the winners of the National Youth Painting Competition – ‘Tawny Teal Tan’ from December 11, 2019 to motivate creative students and prepare them for a professional career ahead.

The competition which witnessed overwhelming response from young students from different nationalities between the age group of 15-18 years, was aimed at identifying students with best creative potential.

As part of the 3 day-long exhibitions at Art Gallery, WUD Campus 50 best entries were showcased. Some of the eminent personalities who graced the occasion included – Chief Guest Mr. Siddharth Tagore – Director of Art Konsult Gallery, Publisher of Art & Deal Magazine, Guest of Honour Sanjay Gupta – Vice-chancellor, WUD and Jury member Prof. Shaleen Sharma, Dean Architecture, WUD.

Speaking on the occasion Dr Sanjay Gupta, Vice Chancellor, World University of Design said “At WUD we are committed to keep encouraging and motivating the young generation from time to time by organizing such events. This time we are also offering scholarships to all the winners so that they can pursue formal studies at the World University of Design. It was for the first-time that we even felicitated the efforts of teachers in shaping our country’s creative talent. The School of Visual Artsat WUD aims to make it a bigger and better annual event going forward.”

The entries were evaluated by an eminent panel of Art Personalities and the top three winners were felicitated by 1st prize- 10,000 INR, 2nd prize-7,000 INR, 3rd prize-5,000 INR along with certificates. Participation certificates were given to all the contestants.
