World Water Week 2021: DC Ramban flags off awareness Van
Ramban: To disseminate awareness regarding water conservation and preservation, Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam today flagged off an Awareness Van here from the DDC Office Complex, Maitra as part of World Water Week 2021.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Ramban Dhirendra Sharma; CPO, Kasturi Lal; Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Department, Ramban, Nazir Ahmad Jaral, besides other officers were also present on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of water conservation and preservation. He gave a detail of the activities being undertaken during the week in the district till World Water Day on March 22. “A public campaign will be launched to make people cognizant about water preservation in the backdrop of its depletion due to global warming,” he added.
The Deputy Commissioner also highlighted the steps taken by the administration for providing drinking water to all the people in the district, including those facing crisis and require bore wells and hand pumps to meet their requirement. He informed that focus is being laid on the completion of new Jal Shakti Schemes and the restoration of the dysfunctional hand pumps.
The Deputy Commissioner called upon the people to actively participate in such campaigns and play a constructive role in water conservation.
