XIM Bhubaneswar Hosts the Annual Budget Conclave ‘21
Bhubaneswar: Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) is one of India’s foremost business schools with a rich legacy spanning over 30 years. Since its foundation in 1987, XIMB has been known for its academic pedagogy and striving to create India’s best managers.
On February 6th, 2021, Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, will host the Annual Budget Conclave ‘21 conducted by X-FIN, the finance association of XIMB, in collaboration with World Trade Centre, Bhubaneswar.
The Union Budget 2021-22 was presented by the Hon’ble Finance Minister of India, Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1, 2021. This year’s Budget had the steep objective of reviving an economy battered by the COVID-19 pandemic, which affected all facets of the Indian economy. While presenting the first-ever digital union budget, the finance minister laid down a foundation for a directional change for the Indian economy that will stimulate growth in the country after a year of struggle.
The budget focused on the seven pillars that are key to reviving the economy, namely physical and financial capital and infrastructure, health and wellbeing, reinvigorating human capital, innovation and R&D, inclusive development for aspirational India, and minimum government-maximum governance.
Eminent personalities from the industry as well as academia will be forming the panel for the conclave. The panel will consist of Prof. Dr. Satyanarayan Mishra who has an MA in Applied Economics with International Trade & Statistics as his special papers with first class. He currently serves as the Dean of KIIT School of Management (KSOM). Joining him will be CA A.K. Sabat, Managing Director at AK Sabat & Co. with experience of over 3 decades in audits, advisory, and taxation.
Next, we have Dr. Soumya Kanti Ghosh, who is the Group Chief Economic Advisor at the State Bank of India and is a member of the Indian Bank’s Association’s Monetary Policy Group, Economic Advisory Council, etc. Finally, Mr. Srimanta Panda, who is currently serving as Deputy General Manager (Finance) at the National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), will be joining the panel. He has over 25 years of experience in the industry.
The session will be moderated by Prof. S.K. Padhi, Associate Dean – Executive Education at Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar. The digital edition of the conclave is set to be streamed live on Zoom for the students of XIMB.
