XIM University Organized National Webinar On Intellectual Property Rights
XIM University, Bhubaneswar organized a webinar on IPR entitled “INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & INNOVATION MANAGEMENT UNDER INDUSTRY 4.0” on 14th April, 2022 under visionary guidance of Fr. S. Tony Uvary, Sj, Vice Chancellor.. Dr Bijay Kumar Sahu, Regional Manager & Head, Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre (IPFC), Technology & Innovation Support Centre (TISC), National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), (An Enterprise of DSIR, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India) was the resource person of the workshop. The event started with the formal welcome of the resource person by Dr. Dipak Kumar Khuntia of XIM University. He also explained the purpose of the webinar. The main aim of the webinar was to impart greater awareness about the issue of IPRs, which gained a special importance for all the domains of socio-economic development.
Dr. Bijay Sahu, explained the importance and various aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). The workshop comprehensively touched upon IPRs which includes patents, trademark, copy rights, industrial designs, and geographical indications. He also emphasized on the advantages of protecting IPRs and the procedure of filing of Intellectual Property. He discussed about the relevance of IPRs to commercialize the innovations in business start-ups. How to boost the Start-Up Ecosystem through the Intellectual Property Rights was deliberated.
This Webinar was coordinated by Dr. Dipak Kumar Khuntia, to enlighten the future entrepreneurs to have competitive advantage in business start ups with IPRs. With participation from more than 100 academicians, this webinar generated awareness among the innovators to protect intellectual property.
