XLRI Jamshedpur conducted its 1st Convocation Ceremony of the PGDM (HRM) Program for the Emerging CHROs on April 15, 2024 at Tata Auditorium, XLRI Jamshedpur Campus. The Chief Guest for the event was Ms Anuradha Razdan, Executive Director HR & CHRO of Hindustan Unilever & Unilever South Asia.
A total of 38 students received their post graduate diploma degrees. The XLRI Medal for Academic Excellence was awarded to Mr. Varun Sevva Reddy.
“Thanks to everyone at XLRI for conceptualizing this program and congratulations to all the graduating students for making this your choice. XLRI has nurtured the discipline of Human Resources way ahead of industry. Our institute has demonstrated the pioneering spirit that it stands for. I am happy to see that the graduating batch comes across from 16 industries and with 653 years of collective experience”, said Ms Anuradha Razdan, Executive Director HR, & CHRO of Hindustan Unilever & Unilever South Asia.
“The discipline of HRM will be transformation driver for the next few decades. Focus on the privacy of growth, manage long term strategy with a short-term tactile vision, move from service to strategic role in your organisation and learn to drive impact. As HR professionals, be the conscious keeper, build relationships, make connections. Understand the purpose of what you do and don’t forget the human connect. HR jobs are not a popularity contest, show people the mirror by making your view point known to people”, she advised the students.
As the role of Human Resources (HR) in organizations continues to evolve and gain prominence, there is a growing demand for competent Chief Human Resources Officers (CHROs) who can navigate the complexities of the modern workplace. XLRI, leveraging its rich legacy in management education and industry partnerships launched PGDM (HRM) Program for the Emerging CHROs tailored specifically for emerging CHROs in March 2022.
Fr S George S.J., Director of XLRI Jamshedpur congratulated the batch and said, “When rigidity clashes with reality, the looser is reality unless we are very careful, awake, alive and we keep questioning and rationale mind. Use your knowledge, and whatever you learn throughout life, it’s now the time to keep the spirit of questioning alive and challenging anything to which we do not agree, anything that is disturbing stand up to it or else you will become spectator of your own life. With these words, I encourage you to be strong, compassionate, understanding and question to whatever stands against humanity. Congratulations once again.”
He then distributed the diploma degrees to the 38 graduating students.
