XLRI Holds 15th Graduation Ceremony of Executive Diploma Courses

Jamshedpur: XLRI- Xavier School of Management, one of India’s premier B-School, recently organized 15th Graduation Ceremony for students of its Executive Diploma Programmes. The event was held on April 8th, 2017 at the Tata Auditorium, XLRI campus, Jamshedpur.

The event was graced by Mr. Kishore Jayaraman (President, Rolls Royce, India and South Asia) as the Chief Guest, Fr. E Abraham S.J. (Director, XLRI), Dr. Ashis K. Pani (Dean – Academics, XLRI), Dr. Ram Kumar Kakani (Associate Dean, VIL Programmes, XLRI), Dr. Vishwa Ballabh (Chairperson, Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) – XLRI) and other dignitaries.

Mr. Kishore Jayaraman delivered the Graduation Address at the event.

On this significant day, 808 students of XLRI’s various Executive Diploma Programmes including 714 students graduated of Virtual Interactive Learning (VIL) Programmes (94 students of Postgraduate Certificate in Business Management – Batch 27; 107 students of Postgraduate Certificate in Business Management – Batch 28; 102 students of Postgraduate Certificate in Business Management – Batch 29; 136 students of Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management – Batch 19, 138 students of Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management – Batch 20; 137 students of Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management – Batch 21), 22 students of Executive Diploma in Human Resource Management Programme (EDHRM), 17 students of Agribusiness Management Programme (ABM) and 55 students of the 7th batch of the Post Graduate Programme for certificate in Entrepreneurship Management (PGP CEM) received their graduating certificates and medals.

Like every year, top ranking students of the VIL Programme were awarded XLRI Medals for Academic Excellence on the occasion. Sambit Acharya, Ataur Rahman, Bhawesh Kumar Thakur and Vishakha Chopra of PGCBM batches and Deepa Nagarajan, Dipankar Acharya, and Parul Sardana of PGCHRM batches received the medals sponsored by Unified Collaboration Services (UCS).

Mitali Kainthla of EDHRM, Gagan Bihari Jena of ABM and Ekta Agarwal of PGP-CEM received Gold Medals at the event for securing the highest CQPI.

Congratulating the outgoing students, Dr. Ram Kumar Kakani, XLRI VIL Programmes asked them to follow the Jesuit spirit of ‘Magis’ and to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

He said, “XLRI has been able to establish itself as trend setter at the global education platform because it has been quick to grasp the potential of virtual learning as a tool to transform Education. Virtual Learning is here to stay and will gain more popularity in the future.”

Dr. Vishwa Ballabh, Chairperson, Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) – XLRI congratulated the graduating students and commented, “Our Entrepreneurship Management Programme has helped students to be equipped with conceptual and operational skills required for running an entrepreneurial venture successfully. Over the years, many of our graduates have become successful entrepreneurs. We would look forward to our present and future students come forward with unique ideas and launch their own ventures.”
