XLRI Hosts Successful Inaugural ‘Metamorphose Minis’ Webinar Series on the Future of Work in BFSI Sector

Jamshedpur — As part of XLRI’s vibrant 75th Anniversary celebrations, which honor the institution’s legacy of pioneering management thought and leadership, XLRI has launched the ‘Metamorphose Minis’ (MM) series. This initiative, organized in collaboration with McKinsey & NHRD, features sector-specific webinars focusing on the latest workplace trends, with CHROs from leading companies as panelists. The MM series also serves as a precursor to the upcoming ‘METAMORPHOSE’ XLRI CHRO Conference in Jaipur from September 27-29, 2024.

The inaugural session, held on August 29, 2024, gathered top HR leaders from leading financial institutions to discuss the transformative trends reshaping the BFSI sector. The webinar drew significant interest, with over 900 registrations and 465 active participants, highlighting the growing curiosity and concern surrounding the future of the industry.

During the inaugural webinar, industry leaders highlighted key trends shaping the future of the BFSI sector, including the impact of the emerging middle class, the rise of hybrid work models, and the growing focus on mental health in the workplace. Speakers like Aditya Mittal ( CHRO South Asia – Citi ) and Sudakshina Bhattacharya ( President & CHRO – HDFC Ergo General Insurance ) emphasized the need to embrace advanced technologies such as AI to stay competitive, while Madhavi Lall (MD & Head HR, India – Deutsche Bank) and Deepika Banerjee ( MD & Head of Human Capital Management – Goldman Sachs Services, India ) stressed the importance of holistic employee well-being and strategic people management. The discussion also touched on the evolving expectations of Generation Alpha, with the panelists highlighting the importance of aligning workplace strategies with the values of this new generation. The panelists collectively underscored the significance of increasing female participation in the workforce and offered advice to aspiring CHROs on developing deep functional expertise, understanding business dynamics, and building meaningful relationships.
