Yale’s American Sign Language program brings communities together
An expansion of the American Sign Language program in Yale’s Department of Linguistics in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences offers more than a way for students to fulfill their language requirements. It has become an increasingly popular avenue for students across campus to connect with the deaf community and deaf culture.
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences is home to 1,000-plus faculty and more than 40 departments and programs that span the divisions of Humanities, Social Science, and Science, and provide the instruction to the students of Yale College and the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.
