Yoga Week celebrations commence at MNIT Jaipur on 15 June 2023
On the morning of 15th June 2023, Yoga Week celebrations commenced at MNIT Jaipur campus with a Yoga Session, at 6.30 am. Yoga Week is being celebrated at MNIT Jaipur from 15 to 20 June 2023 and the International Day of Yoga (IDY) will be celebrated on 21st June 2023, in the able leadership of Prof. N.P. Padhy, Director MNIT Jaipur. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice, originated in ancient India and which improves strength, balance and flexibility. Prof Mahesh Kumar Jat, Dean, Student Welfare, MNIT Jaipur apprised that as per the directives of Ministry of Education, the Yoga Week and IDY-23 are being celebrated at MNIT Jaipur with the objective to promote Yoga for well-being and holistic development.
On 15th June 2023, more than a hundred participants including students, faculty and staff members, and their families practiced yoga under the supervision of Ms Namita Chauhan, a certified Yoga teacher and Lifestyle Coach. The instructor performed some very efficient yoga poses and exercises to engage the participants. The session started with a warm-up and stretching workout, then a number of effective yoga poses namely Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Trikonasana, Bhujangasana, Utkatasana, Ustrasana etcetera were practiced. The session ended with Bhramari pranayama and Om chanting enriching everyone with positivity and enthusiasm. Healthy refreshments were also served to the participants. The Yoga Week will be concluded with a grand celebration of International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 21st June 2023.
