Youth Engagement & Outreach programme held at GDC Pulwama

 

PULWAMA : The District Employment and Counselling Centre (DE&CC) Pulwama today held a daylong youth engagement & outreach programme on schemes of Mission Youth operated by various departments for the unemployed youth of the district at auditorium Hall of Govt Degree College Pulwama, here.

The Programme was organized under the aegis of Youth Volunteer Programme of Mission Youth, J&K. Members of Youth Clubs of Block Pulwama, Kakapora and Newa along with frontline workers participated in the programme.

At the outset, unemployed youth were sensitized about different self-employment schemes including schemes of Mission Youth meant for the empowerment of the youth, so that they are able to generate livelihood for themselves and others.

During the program, the Assistant Director (AD) Employment sensitized the participants about various schemes of Mission youth including Mumkin, Tejaswani, Rise Together, Tourist Village network, SAYTHA-Youth in Distress, AVSAR, Skill Development Initiatives, Youth Clubs, Psycho-Social Support, Young Innovators Programs for holistic and pragmatic youth engagement and empowerment on sustainable lines.

She informed that more than 80 Small Commercial Vehicles have been handed over to beneficiaries under MUMKIN scheme and 67 cases approved by District Level Implementation Committee under TEJASWINI scheme of Mission Youth, J&K.

The AD further informed that a 10 day Entrepreneurship Development Training programme of the beneficiaries under TEJASWINI scheme is in progress and is being conducted by J&K EDI.

Apart from awareness regarding employment generation schemes of the government, psycho social counseling and cultural programmes were the parts of the event.

Experts from IMHANS talked about drug de-addiction strategies whereas performance by participants from the Cultural Wing of Govt. Degree College Boys Pulwama enthralled the audience.

Employment Officer, DE&CC Pulwama impressed upon the audience to register themselves on the Employment Portal of Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir. The employment portal (www.jakemp.nic.in) has been developed to bring job seekers and job providers on a common platform.

All the participants were further appealed to disseminate the awareness about the schemes of Mission Youth among the masses so that benefits of these schemes percolate down to all the eligible ones.

Officers and Officials from DE&CC Pulwama, Horticulture, KVIB, Lead Bank, Agriculture, Social Welfare and Health besides from Womens Development Corporation also participated in the programme.
