ZHCET Commemorates Golden Jubilee of 1974 Batch

 

Aligarh : The Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) celebrated the golden jubilee of its 1974 batch with a grand event at its Conference Hall. The celebration was attended by Principal Prof. M.M. Sufyan Beg, Captain Prem Veer Singh, and Work Organisation President Allama Syed Abdullah Tariq, who coordinated the event with his team.

In a gesture of appreciation, Principal Prof. M M Sufyan Beg and Officiating Dean Dr. Mohammad Hasan were presented with bouquets, bags, mementos, and shawls, acknowledging their dedicated service to the college. The event was marked by the presence of 28 alumni from the 1974 batch, alongside 8 retired professors and 11 current professors, all of whom shared memories of their 50-year journey and their professional achievements across India.

The event began with a recitation that emphasized the value of education, followed by a thought-provoking skit performed by current students. The skit highlighted the message of communal harmony, earning significant praise from the audience. The reunion also saw the participation of Prof. Razaullah Khan, a Court member and former Principal of ZHCET, adding to the occasion’s significance.

A major highlight of the celebration was a grand cake-cutting ceremony, representing the unity and lasting legacy of the alumni. Among the distinguished attendees were Gp Capt Premvir Singh, Sudhir Kumar Singhal, Prof. Dr. Mohd Muazzam, Cdr Ishwar Chandra Sharma, Rajesh Kumar, Janak Raj Bhatia, Chandra Prakash Pawa, Anil Kumar Jain, Farooq Ghani, Virender Singh Yadav, Haider Ashraf, Raghuvansh Bihari Varshney, Milan Prabhat, Mohd Tariq Javed, Nasimur Rahman, Rakesh Kumar Jain, Rakesh Gupta, Ram Prasad, Shakir Husain, Dhirendra Yadav, Syed Abdullah Tariq, Mohd Tahir, Shakeel Ahmad, Vinay Anand, Naushad Ali Sabzposh, and Akhtar Ali Siddique, many of whom were accompanied by their spouses and children.

The event proceedings were conducted by Ms. Sumu Tariq, daughter of Syed Abdullah Tariq. This reunion reflected the strong bonds between the alumni and their alma mater, celebrating decades of achievements and a shared commitment to their alma matar.
