Zhejiang University: Joint Symposium on Frontiers in Organ Transplantation successfully held
On November 12th, the “Frontiers in Organ Transplantation 2021 Joint Symposium” was successfully held in Affiliated Hangzhou First People’s Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine. The conference was co-chaired by Prof. XU Xiao from the Zhejiang University School of Medicine, and Prof. Kourosh Saeb-Parsy from the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine.
Prof. HE Lianzhen, vice president of Zhejiang University, and Patrick Maxwell, Regius Professor of Physic and Head of the School of Clinical Medicine, University of Cambridge, delivered the opening remarks. Both sides reviewed the constructive cooperation of the two universities in the fields of medical research and organ transplantation over the years, expressing the hope that this symposium would contribute to substantial cooperation on human health and well-being. Prof. LI Min, director of the Office of Global Engagement of Zhejiang University, hosted the opening ceremony.
Representatives from both parties shared cutting-edge advances in the fields of transplantation oncology, transplantation immunology, regenerative medicine, pathology, organ injury and repair, and held heated discussions on hot issues. This Symposium was supported by “Zhejiang University Global Engagement Fund”.
Committed to promoting the vigorous development of organ transplantation in China, Prof. Xu’s team has forged deep cooperation with the University of Cambridge. In November 2019, a delegation from the School of Medicine of Zhejiang University visited the University of Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine and held the first Symposium on the Frontiers of Organ Transplantation.
