Zhejiang University: Zhejiang University and the Polytechnic University of Milan ink MoU online

On June 20, Prof. HE Lianzhen, vice president of Zhejiang University, and Prof. Giuliano Noci, vice rector of the Polytechnic University of Milan (Polimi), signed a university-level MoU via video conferencing.

Vice President He reviewed the fruitful cooperation developed between the two institutions in teaching, research and innovative design since 2012 when the first university-level agreement was signed. “We look forward to deepening cooperation and therefore making greater contributions to innovating knowledge and addressing global challenges,” she added.

Vice Rector Giuliano Noci pointed out that Polimi attaches much importance to scientific and technological innovation as well as cooperation with China. “We will enhance exchange programs among faculty and students and promote the launching of joint degree and research programs,” he said.



A discussion session was held regarding cooperation in the field of design and urban planning. Participants included Prof. SUN Lingyun from the ZJU College of Computer Science and Technology, Assoc. Prof. LIU Cui from the ZJU College of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Prof. Gaetano Cascini from the Polimi Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Assoc. Prof. Carolina Pacchi from the Polimi Department of Architecture and Urban Studies. The session was chaired by LI Min, director of the ZJU Office of Global Engagement.

Founded in 1863, Polimi is the largest as well as one of the top scientific-technological university in Italy. It boasts mulitple disciplinary areas ranking among top 50 in the world, including art & design, architecture & built environment, civil & manufacturing engineering, computer science & information systems, etc.
