Zhejiang University: Zhejiang University hosts Carbon Peak & Neutrality Summit
On October 10, the 245th West Lake Forum and the Carbon Peak & Neutrality Summit were held on Zijingang Campus in the hybrid format. More than 150 scholars convened at the forum, sharing the future possibilities for scientific and technological development in terms of how intelligent electric energy serves the carbon peak & neutrality strategy.
“In response to climate change, Zhejiang University has been unswervingly committed to bringing into full play its solid disciplinary and research foundation in the domain of energy and serving the needs of national major strategies, thereby making considerable contributions to achieving carbon peak and neutrality,” said REN Shaobo, Chairman of the Zhejiang University Council, in the welcome remarks. He hoped that this summit would further deepen the integration of energy and information, empower the revolution on re-electrification, and contribute wisdom and strength to ensuring national energy security.
XIANG Haiping, chief engineer of the National Energy Administration, WANG Jifeng, chief engineer of China Southern Power Grid, and LI Yingyi, chief engineer of State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Co. Ltd., delivered remarks at the opening ceremony. They expressed their hopes of making greater contributions to promoting energy transformation and industrial upgrading, achieving scientific and technological self-reliance, and serving the goals of carbon peak and neutrality.
Featuring the keynote speeches and three sessions, this forum focused on digital empowerment, exploring new “intelligent electric” modes, and promoting the reform on digital and intelligent energy.
