Hyderabad to witness, 1st promotional tour on India’s largest trade fair on environmental technologies, IFAT India

From September 26 to 28, 2017, IFAT India – the leading trade fair environmental technology – unites the entire environmental industry at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. One month before the show, on August 21, the organizers make a pit stop on their 1stpromotional tour at Hyderabad. By bringing the trade fair to the capital of Telangana & Andhra Pradesh,the IFAT India team aims toraise awareness for both environmental issues in the region as well as the latest solutions and innovations which are on the market.

Bhupinder Singh, CEO of Messe München India, says: “As one of the fastest growing cosmopolitan cities in Asia, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh needs to focus on a sustainable, clean development path. As promising the economic growth may seem, the resulting urbanization leads to a degradation of the environment.” Recent cases have shown that the Indian pharma Industry is still facing majorenvironmental challenges, like un-disposed waste, untreated sewage or water pollution (ground and lake water), bio-medical waste. Mr. Singh continues: “I would be delighted to welcome the entire engineering community at IFAT India in September in Mumbai. Our trade fair offers technology and services that are tailored to the Indian market and that could prove to be crucial for Telangana & Andhra Pradesh, too.”

The outlook for this year’s event is more than promising: More than 160 exhibitors from 18 countries have already announced their participation. Among them are market leaders like L&T, Thermax, Ion Exchange, Ranmky, Bilfinger, Endress+Hauser, Excel, Kirloskar Brothers, Kishor Pumps, Tata Projects, Wilo, Siemens, Lanxess, Astral Poly, Xylem, CRI Pumps, LG Chem, Sai Enviro, Wipro Water and many more. The 2017 edition also features country pavilions from China, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The exhibits at IFAT India cover the following fields:water extraction and treatment, sewage treatment, water distribution, refuse disposal and recycling, waste management, generating energy from waste materials, energy efficiency technologies, decontamination of old sites, soil treatment etc.

The trade fair is accompanied by an extensive supporting program including technical presentations, panel discussions and tutorials, where scientists and industry experts – both from India and overseas –share their knowledge with the audience. Among the keynotes of this year’s Innovation Exchange Forum are, for example: “Technologies for building a modern Water and Waste Water Treatment system for Power Plants” by Pinaki Bhadury (WIPRO, India) or “New Era in Wastewater Management & Sewage Pumping” by Kishor Pumps. Further, the implementation of biogas plants in India is another hot topic on the program. Gaurav Kedia, Chairman of the Indian Biogas Association (IBA), presents a new cooperation project for the development of the biogas sector in India and will discuss latest case studies in their 1st general body meeting scheduled during the show.

This year for the 2ndtime, there will be again a dedicated area for training, live demonstrations, product presentations and skills contests, running for the entire period of the show. The aim of the Active Learning Center is to promote talent and combat the shortage of skilled workers in the Indian environmental sector.

At the Event, high-ranking representatives from policy makers and business leaders will discuss possible regional strategies on various environmental challenges and seek opportunities. Along with the trade exhibition IFAT INDIA with its partners will concurrently organize multiple interactive programs, to name a few – Air Quality Management Workshop by SDG (Sustainable Development Goals Foundation; Workshop on entrepreneurship in waste management by International Solid Waste Association; Biogas Panel by GIZ, German Biogas Association and Indian Biogas Association; Water Skills Competition by Skill Council for Green Jobs, GIZ and DWA. Whilst, IFAT INDIA will also host an Environmental Technologies Conference in association with TERI, which will focus on issues related to Air Pollution, Solid Waste Management and Urban Water Management in the context of Sustainable Development. Also this edition will witness a new initiative i.e. Business to Government Forum that provides states an ideal platform to announce new projects, to find matching solutions for new tenders and to inform about latest policies in the environmental sector.
