2-day flower show begins at Aligarh Muslim University
ALIGARH : The Aligarh Muslim University Vice Chancellor, Prof Mohammad Gulrez today inaugurated the Annual Flower Show-2024 at Gulistan-e-Syed.
The event has flowers on display under seven different categories. In Class A (University, Institutional and Private gardens), 51 entries have been received while 489 entries in the Class B of Flowering Annuals in pots; 43 entries in the Class C of cut flowers (Rose), 212 entries in the Class CA of cut flower (Annuals); 61 numbers in Class D Ornamental Flowers; 37 entries in Class E with Flower Arrangements and 106 entries have been received under Class F with Succulents, Cacti-Bonsai, Euphorbia, Poinsettia, Bougainvillea and others.
The participants in flower show include Vice Chancellor Lodge, Pro-Vice Chancellor Lodge, Registrar Lodge, SS Hall Jama Masjid, SS Hall South, Sir Syed House, Guest House No. 1 and 2, Gulistan-e-Syed, Engineering College, Kennedy Hall, Physics Department, Mathematics Department, Physics Department, Urdu Department, Botany Department, Archaeology Department, Department of Foreign Languages, Department of Home Science, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology, Maulana Azad Library, University Circle, Centenary Gate, V.M. Hall, RAF 104, Aligarh International School, Al-Hamd Agro Food Product, Ms Sadia Almas, Al-Rabah House, Prof Sadia Sayeed, Al-Barkaat, etc.
Prof Zaki Anwar Siddiqui MIC Land and Garden, Dean Students Welfare Prof Rafiuddin, Proctor Prof Mohd Wasim Ali, Prof Pervaiz Talib, Prof Anwar Shehzad, Prof Shakeel Ahmad, Prof Aysha Farooq, Prof. Major Fareed Mahdi, Dr Shamim Akhtar, Dr Saba Hasan, Dr Tariq Aftab, Deans and Chairmen of the different faculties and departments and Principal of Colleges were present on the occasion.
The event will conclude with a prize distribution ceremony on March 10, 2024 at 3:30 pm.
