Lecture on Rubber Dam Application

Aligarh : The Department of Prosthodontics, Dr. Z.A. Dental College, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) organised a lecture by Dr. Swati Sharma, Institute of Dental Education and Advance Studies, Gwalior on “Rubber Dam application”. She conducted hands-on training for the participants enabling them to learn the rubber dam placement on anatomical models and patients.

Delivering the lecture, she said that with the advent of new restorative dental materials, dental professionals must master various isolation techniques to prevent contamination with saliva, blood and cross-infection.

She emphasised that it is mandatory for the students appearing in various exams to get a licence to practice dentistry in different countries, to have the skill to place rubber dam in patients’ oral cavity.
