300 million for Korea Maritime & Ocean University
GNS Shipping Co., Ltd. ( CEO Park Deok-heon ) delivered 300 million won to the university development fund .
GNS Shipping Co., Ltd. is an outer port bulk shipping company that provides maritime transportation services based on value and trust to domestic and foreign shippers . Since its establishment in June 2001 , it has set the goal of ‘Your Reliable Shipping Partners’ and continues to grow .
On the 2nd , the 「GNS Shipping Development Fund Delivery Ceremony 」 held at the university headquarters was attended by key officials from both institutions, including President Do Do-hee Do and CEO Deok-heon Park.
President Deok Do-hee said , “ I would like to express my deep gratitude to GNS Shipping CEO Park Deok-heon and all other executives and staff members who have worked hard for the development of my alma mater . ” emphasized .
Park Deok-heon, CEO of GNS Shipping, said, “ Since I graduated from Korea Maritime and Ocean University, it was a great foundation and help in running a shipping company , and it is to pay back the favor . ”
Looking back on the days when he had no choice but to study in difficult environments and rigorous training during his school days, he said, “ At the time, boarding a ship was very lonely and difficult, but looking back , it was such a difficult time that I am today. I think making a small contribution to school development is a great reward in life . ”
In addition, CEO Park has been continuously donating scholarships to young people from difficult family environments in Yeongdo-gu, where he grew up, for the past 10 years . In 2021 , he joined as a member of No. 223 of the Busan ‘ Honor Society ‘, a group of major donors with over 100 million won .
He said , “ I don’t donate money or pay for development funds to colleges, but I think the heart and interest are more important . I think it is more important to pay more attention to the place where you have been in love , the alma mater where you studied , and the neighbors in need , and spend money on those places. ” It is hoped that it will be well used for R&D projects and contribute to Korea becoming one of the world’s top 3 maritime powers . And I am also grateful to the company’s executives and employees who agreed with me whenever I made a donation . ”
