36 new sports academies to be set up in State in next two years

Bhopal : The Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare Shri Jitu Patwari said that 36 new sports academies will be set up in the state by the State Government in the next two years. In these academies, free lodging and training facility will be provided to the talented sportspersons of the state at the expenses of the state government. It was informed by Shri Patwari while inaugurating the 2-day divisional sports competition being organized under the Guru Nanak Dev Ji Prantiya Olympic Sports Competition in Indore.

Minister Shri Patwari stated that the sports competition is being organized to provide an opportunity to the sports talents of rural areas. Madhya Pradesh is the first state of the country, where such kind of competition is being organized. He further mentioned that sportsman spirit should be imbibed by every individual. Sports alone develop positive approach in life. Shri Patwari assured the players that the selection in the state will be done on the basis of merits. All necessary facilities will be provided to talented and eligible sportspersons. He said that 5 percent reservation is being made to the players by the state government in the government jobs.

The Vice Chancellor Smt. Renu Jain extended best wishes and boosted morale of the players. Keep on making efforts continuously. Over one thousand players of 8 districts of Indore division are taking part in the competition. Under this, competitions of Kabaddi, volleyball, athletics, wrestling, football, Kho-kho, table tennis, hockey and badminton etc are being organized.
