500 Candidates Inducted into the Largest Ever Batch of IIMK Executive Programme Along With Second Batch of One-Year MBA Programme
Kozhikode:The record-breaking induction ceremony of 13th batch of Executive Post Graduate Programme (EPGP 13) of the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, was organised online, here today. The year 2020 with its own set of challenges witnessed a spike of close to 40% in admissions to this prestigious executive programme, with a diverse group of 501 candidates joining this programme. 60 candidates from the second batch of one year-full time Post-Graduate Programme in Business Leadership (PGP-BL) also entered the hallowed portals of the leading B-School today.
Mr Aparup Sengupta, Founder and Chairman of AAJ Global Foundation was the Chief Guest for the induction ceremony of EPGP 13, while Mr. Hanish Yadav, Partner, McKinsey & Company, and IIMK Alumnus (PGP 2010) did the honours for the PG-BL 02 induction ceremony. The event was presided over by Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIM Kozhikode.
Mr Sengupta in his address to the vastly experienced batch of executives advised the candidates to discover the golden opportunities that change drives in, in their pursuit of learning at an institution which is now known globally for the richness of its values and thought leadership. On the other hand Mr Yadav, candidly recounted his journey of experiences and the lessons he learnt from them along with the quality education at IIMK highlighting how a true leader can redefine the normal every day and shape opinions by virtue of wisdom gained through experiential learnings.
Prof. Debashis Chatterjee in his inaugural address to the two incoming batches shared that Management is indeed India’s most successful soft power. He also spoke about how the three D’s – Digitisation, Diversification and Disruption have shaped the IIMK philosophy of Globalising Indian Thought and how it has raised India’s stake at the world stage by being a forerunner in Thought Leadership category. Emphasising on the culture of values, he added “Leadership in the corporate world is not just about leading a group of people but evolving one-self by imbibing the timeless values of authenticity, sustainability and wholeness”.
Earlier, the three Deans – Prof. Anandakuttan Unnithan (Academic Affairs and Development), Prof. C Raju (Executive Education) and Prof. Rudra Sensarma (Research Internationalisation and Innovation) along with the Programme Chairpersons welcomed the latest inductees and expressed hope that the value addition earned during the course of their training here at IIMK will give them distinct advantage in their future career trajectory.
The Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) for working professionals is a two-year master’s programme in management offered on Interactive Learning (IL) platform leading to MBA degree. It was also recently ranked at 101+ Rank globally as per the latest QS World Rankings for Executive MBA Programmes. The programme with 750 instruction hours programme has three mandatory in-campus modules. The 13th batch has candidates with experience ranging from 3 years to 36 years which shows their endless passion for learning. The programme is currently delivered through the technology platform of Times Professional Learning (A Division of Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd).
The PGP-BL is a one-year, full-time, residential programme that will have as integral elements, a global immersion module, constant industry engagement and placement assistance. The programme is structured to have five terms of 8 to 9 weeks. The second PGP-BL batch comprises of 60 students who will be taught in two sections, in order to facilitate a highly intense and personalised learning experience. This batch with an average work experience of close to 4.5 years, is also diverse in terms of gender (~30% female), and work experience profile.
