68th Republic Day Celebrated in KIIT & KISS

Bhubaneswar: The 68th Republic Day was celebrated in KIIT University and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) with patriotic fervor. Smt. Saswati Bal, President, KIIT & KISS hoisted the National Flag and took salute of the parade that had marching contingents from all constituents of KIIT & KISS, besides NCC cadets. This year KIIT had Dr. Angela Gomes, Magsaysay Awardee and social activist, Bangladesh; Mr. Mounir Ghabbour Hanna, Chairman & CEO, JW Marriote, Renaissance, Sonesta Hotel, Cairo and Prof. C. V. Ramakrishnan, Eminent Scientist & educationist as special guests.

“Students should work towards nation building and all should have progress of our country as their foremost priority”, Smt. Bal said in her address. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS said, everybody should be aware of one’s duties towards motherland. He advised the students to do something constructive for the nation, apart from their studies.

Among others, Shri R. N. Dash, Secretary, Dr. Subrat Acharya, Chancellor-in-Charge, Prof. P. P. Mathur, VC, Dr. Sasmita Samanta, Registrar and other senior officials of KIIT & KISS were present. On the occasion, best staff awards of KIIT Group of Institutions for the year 2016 were also given away. Students of various schools of KIIT Group of Institutions and KISS performed cultural programmes.
