9 Doda youth get commercial vehicles under MUMKIN scheme

 

DODA : Nine Doda youth today become proud owners of commercial vehicles provided to them under flagship Customized Livelihood Scheme MUMKIN of Mission Youth program.

Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Sharma handed over the keys of commercial mini load carriers to the beneficiaries here at District Employment and Counselling Centre Akram Abad Doda.

The MUMKIN scheme is a Customized Livelihood Scheme launched by LG J&K in November 2020 for the Youth in the age group 18-35. Under the Scheme Banking Partner extends loan facility to the extent of 100% of the On-road Price of the vehicle purchased. Mission Youth, J&K provides an amount of Rs 80,000 or 10% of on-road price of the vehicle (whichever is lesser) as upfront subsidy. The vehicle manufacturer (Scheme Partner of Govt) also provides an upfront special discount, not less than the amount of subsidy.

The purpose of the Scheme is to facilitate the youth to establish a sustainable livelihood line in transport sector by providing them financial assistance.

Additional District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Hanief Malik; GM DIC Khalid Hussain Malik; ARTO Kuldeep Kumar; AD Employment Anoop Kumar; LBO VK Raina, besides officials of DE&CC, Mahendra and TATA company were present on the occasion.

Earlier, in the month of May 2021 the applications were invited through JK e-Services Portal and about 124 applications were received online in respect of District Doda. After due verification & scrutiny of the applications, the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) chaired by the Deputy Commissioner approved 70 applications in the first phase. 3 commercial vehicles have already been provided to the beneficiaries approved by DLIC in the last month.

The DC congratulated the beneficiaries and wished them success in their chosen livelihood in the transport sector.
