Aligarh Muslim University mourns Mr Riaz Jafri’s demise

Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) faculty members, students and staff, deeply mourned the demise of Mr Riaz Jafri, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, who passed away after a cardiac arrest.

“I express my earnest condolences to the bereaved family of Mr Riaz. No words can describe how sorry I am for their loss. Mr Riaz was a conscientious teacher and a promising scholar,” said Professor Tariq Mansoor, AMU Vice Chancellor in his condolence message.

Extending condolences on the demise, Prof Mirza Faisal S Baig, Chairman, Department of Mechanical Engineering, said that it is an irreplaceable loss.

Mr Riaz was a gift to everyone who knew him and my heart goes out to his family in this time of sorrow, he added.

Mr Riaz was writing thesis on ‘Nano Fluids’ for his Ph.D as a teaching candidate. He wrote extensively on fluid mechanics, turbo-machinery and computational fluid dynamics among other topics for peer-reviewed journals. He was working as a lecturer since 1983.
