DLEPC Doda discusses District export promotion plan

Doda: The District Level Export Promotion Committee (DLEPC), Doda, which met today here under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode, held a detailed deliberations with regard to the products which require to be promoted at UT, National as well as global level to tap their export potential.

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered constitution of the export Committee in each district to boost export of the local agriculture, handicraft and other export potential products.

While discussing the export promotion plan, the DDC directed the concerned lay special focus on export promotion of Lavender and Marigold oil, Honey, walnuts, Cedar Wood oil, Munal Kambal (woolen blankets), Pattu (woolen shawl), in addition to the already identified products under “One District One Product” scheme, Aluminum utensils, Gharat Atta (Dessi Chaki/ watermill flour), Bhaderwahi Rajmash and Tourism shall also be given top priority, he said.

Calling for promotion of export of the local agriculture, handicraft, handloom and other potential products of the district at highest level, the DDC said it would in turn boost the local economy as well as of the people concerned with the production of these products.

Among others present in the meeting were Additional Deputy Commissioner, General Manager, District Industry Centre, Chief Horticulture Officer, Apiculture Development Officer, Assistant Director, Handloom, LDM, District Manager KVIB, besides representatives of Tourism and Handicrafts department.
