Jamia Hamdard organsies International Webinar on Digital Transformation: Facelifting Oncology as a part of Indo-Egypt Series
New Delhi: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Jamia Hamdard organized International Webinar on Digital Transformation: Facelifting Oncology. The webinar was organized under the patronage of Mr. Hamid Ahmed Chancellor Jamia Hamdard, Prof. Iqbal S. Hasnain Pro-Chancellor Jamia Hamdard, Prof. M. A. Jafri Vice Chancellor Jamia Hamdard and was chaired by Prof M. Afshar Alam, Dean, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Jamia Hamdard.
Prof Afshar Alam emphasized on the theme of the webinar highlighting the importance of digital transformation. “Covid-19 has forced us to think and re-think about the scope of higher education in new normal. Although, we are constantly introducing technological innovation in teaching-learning we have to update the modules of pedagogy, however, few questions need to be addressed further, such as, digital divide and challenges, and some other issues related to reaching the other stakeholders in higher education and achieving the ultimate objective, he was quoted saying.
Digital transformation has shifted from being a strategic priority that maybe wasn’t implemented or wasn’t implemented to its fullest extent, to being a necessity. We have started a bilateral International Webinar series where there will be exchange of ideas, knowledge and technology transfer; he adds. Consequently, it has become necessary for the higher education institutes to conduct discussion/webinar where representatives from different stakeholders can analyse the present situation, share the best practices, and draw guidelines for the future befitting their socio-economic demography.
The inaugural address was followed by the lectures from the invited speakers. The webinar was graced by the presence of participants from different countries including India, Egypt, Jordan, and Algeria.
Prof. Dr.Nevine Makram Labib, Chair of Computer and Information Systems Department, Sadat Academy for Management Sciences, Egypt, discussed about the Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence in Oncology and its importance in current pandemic situation. Transformation improves student experience, engagement and outcomes in the form of operational efficiency and non-academic activities, future-proofs universities for a more tech-enabled world and allows brick and mortar universities to access new markets and new geographies, she said.
Prof. Dr. Ahmad Tawdi, Delta University of Science and Technology, Egypt focused on the topic Current Challenges facing Oncology Stakeholders while explaining his topic with research-oriented methodology and citations.
Prof. Dr. Yousri Rostom, Alexandria University, Egypt discussed the Roadmap for Digital Transformation in Oncology with multiple innovative ideas.
The Webinar successfully highlighted the Digital Transformation: Facelifting Oncology with reference to Covid-19 and was successfully conducted by the organizing committee members including Dr Parul Agarwal, Dr. Sherin Zafar, Dr. Siddhartha Sankar Biswas and Mr. Md Omair Ahmad. The Department received overwhelming registrations from faculties, researchers, scholars and students across the globe. The webinar was hosted on the Google Meet platform and was also streamed live.
