Ural federal university: Ural Federal University Looks Good in New Webometrics Ranking of World Universities

Ural Federal University has improved its performance in the new ranking of educational institutions Webometrics Ranking of World Universities. In the world, the university has risen by 25 positions, now occupying 910th place. According to the ‘Openness’ indicator, UrFU rose from 1031st to 867th position, and according to the ‘Superiority’ indicator – from 1130th to 992nd.

The Webometrics ranking is published twice a year by the Cybermetrics research group, which is part of the Spanish National Research Council.

When forming the rating, 31 thousand universities were assessed (including 1071 Russian universities) from 200 countries. The total published part of the ranking includes about 12 thousand universities, of which 331 are Russian.

The methodology by which the last issue of the rating was formed has undergone significant changes. The indicator ‘Presence’ was removed from the previously used system of indicators, which estimated the number of pages in the main web domain of the university and had a weight of 5%.
