Anti-drug campaign: SWD hosts painting cum debate competition at BVM Bhaderwah
Doda: The Social Welfare Department Doda, on the directions of DDC Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode, today organised a painting cum debate competition, here at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Bhaderwah under the aegis of “Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan”.
Scores of students of various institution participated in the competition in the presence of PRI members and a large gathering of locals.
The DDC Chairperson, Dhananter Singh Kotwal, DDC member Yudhvir Singh, BDC Chairperson Bhaderwah Omi Chand, ADC Bhaderwah Rakesh Kumar, Secretary DLSA, Susheel Singh, Tehsildar, Zeeshan Tahir, besides other concerned were present.
The speakers highlighted the harmful effects of drugs and motivated the students to stay away from these substances. They were informed that the main aim of organizing such events is to spread awareness among the students and prevent the young generation from indulging in drug addiction.
“It starts merely as amusement but ends up becoming an addiction and the young generation are largely the most affected section with this and which needs to be eradicated completely from the society” the speakers added.
Meanwhile, scores of students also spoke on drug addiction in length and breadth, besides put efforts to colour down the ideas about drug menace on drawing papers.
The best three artists and debaters were felicitated with mementos, besides consolation prizes were also given to the participants.
The whole program was organised under the supervision of DSWO, Zubair Ahmed Lone.
