Media Fraternity Kupwara meets Deputy Commissioner

Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today convened an interactive meeting with media fraternity Kupwara, here.

Tehsildar Kupwara, Javid Ahmad Zargar, President Media Fraternity Kupwara, Yahya Sultan, besides, senior journalists including Rahee Mushtaq, Sahil Shameem, Peerzada Shakir and other concerned were present in the meeting.

The President, Media Fraternity apprised the DC about the issues of media persons in Kupwara, besides, the difficulties they face while covering the events on ground. He put forth demand for establishment of a press club at Kupwara.

Other journalists also spoke and flagged off their issues with the chair.

The DC gave a patient hearing and assured them about resolving their genuine demands including establishment of a Press Club.

He said that the media is a significant pillar of democracy for delivery of transparent and accountable governance to the people. He added that the district administration is always available for coordination with the people who are engaged directly or indirectly in promoting development and wellbeing of the society.
